Rover ERP was designed to interface to Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) as well as most other available productivity tools, such as Adobe (pdf) and Open Office products. For example, any report or data file can be exported to Excel or Word, based upon your security rights.

First, due to Rover ERP’s Windows architecture, it is easy to learn and easy to use, because it is familiar to most users. Second, because Rover ERP encompasses your entire enterprise within one software system, your users don’t have to learn different ways of navigation or operation. Rover Data Systems designed it to be easy to use, so training sessions are shorter and your learning curve is minimal.

Whether your business has one location, or multiple locations, we can work with you to coordinate the installation and implementation of Rover ERP either site by site, or all at once. Rover ERP can support any number of facilities and warehouses, whether they are manufacturing, distribution or accounting. Plus, you will have improved inventory control by seeing all of your warehouse locations on a single inventory inquiry screen. Multiple company codes give you the ability to maintain separate books for your divisions, while still being able to report financials at a corporate level.

One of the areas where we excel is in our ability to work with you to make Rover ERP fit into your business environment. We know, and really so should everyone else, that there is no single ERP product that can be a 100% match for your business needs. The Rover ERP product is feature rich and is constantly being upgraded, but there always comes a time where you need something like a special report designed your way. Many times, that can be done with the report writer, but if you need customizations, from reports to new screens, we will be there to help. Plus, Rover ERP and our support staff have the tools to keep track of these changes to make your next upgrade as easy as possible.

Many of our customers are spread across the U.S. Even those that are a few miles away are better supported via an internet connection. We can connect directly to your system and help you answer the questions you have without waiting for someone to drive, or worse, fly out to you. It doesn’t matter how close or how far geographically, you feel the comfort of knowing superior service is a simple phone call away.

First and foremost, we have been able to maintain a low overhead with one simple word: quality. The Rover ERP system will work for you right out of the box. Many larger software companies have to maintain a huge staff of customer service personnel because they encounter so many problems with the product. At Rover Data Systems, the vast majority of the calls we get are procedural in nature. Things like “I can’t remember how to reverse a receipt” or “Which report best shows me my sales for the year?” The next level of calls we get are requests for customizations, asking to define extra user-defined fields, or create a custom screen to help them better handle inventory control.

Absolutely. If you have any existing system, whether is be a simple, off-the-shelf system, software from one of those large monolithic companies or even just spreadsheets, there is always data you are not going to want to have to reenter, or lose. One of the first phases of an implementation is to convert the required data so we can train your employees on their data. You can bring over all the data you wish, from customers, vendors and parts, to transaction files such as sales orders, purchase orders, etc.

Our standard implementation time is between 90 and 120 days from the signing of the contract. As with new cars, your mileage may vary. It’s possible to have it be much shorter, and it’s also possible to stretch it out over a longer period of time. Our implementation team will work with you to determine a schedule that meets your needs. If it takes longer than 120 days, you’ll find it’s not us you’re waiting for.

Rover ERP is, and always has been, targeted at the small-to-medium business (SMB). As we all know, SMB covers a wide range of companies. Our current customer base ranges from customers under $5M to over $300M in revenue. One of the best things about Rover ERP is its ability to grow with your business. The acronym ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning. To put it simply, it means a software product that will help you control your entire business operation. What started as back office products like accounting packages, added inventory control, grew to MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to MRPII (what they used to call “closed loop MRP”) and then morphed into ERP.
